Event narrative (NOAA)
A three-year-old boy was found inside a day care van during the afternoon hours and died shortly later. The child was left inside the van for at least two hours, and temperatures at the time were near 106 degrees. This occurred at the intersection of Buckner Boulevard and Cordell Drive. The medical examiner determined the cause of death to be heat/hyperthermia.
