Excessive Heat Warning conditions occurred across the region August 1st through the 5th. In Kaufman County, daytime high temperatures ranged approximately from 103-109 degrees with overnight lows in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Afternoon heat index values were near or slightly above 110 degrees in several locations. Three people in the county died as a result of the heat during this period.
