Event narrative (NOAA)

Excessive Heat Warning conditions occurred across the region August 1st through the 5th. In Fannin County, daytime high temperatures ranged approximately from 105-111 degrees with overnight lows in the upper 70s to mid 80s. Afternoon heat index values were around 110 degrees in several locations. Three people in the county died as a result of the heat during this period.
