Excessive Heat Warning conditions occurred across the region August 1st through the 5th. In Tarrant County, daytime high temperatures ranged approximately from 105-111 degrees with overnight lows in the upper 70s to upper 80s. On the 2nd and 3rd, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (KDFW) recorded a new all-time record highest minimum temperature of 86 degrees. Afternoon heat index values were around 110 to 112 degrees in many locations. One person in the county died as a result of the heat during this period. Another 63 people were treated for heat related injuries or illness.
