Event narrative (NOAA)

A snow squall produced snowfall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour and wind gusts of 30 to 35 mph. One inch of snow was measured in a 20 min period at several sites across the Missoula valley. A fatal crash occurred on Interstate 90 at mile marker 97 during the snow squall. The call for the crash was dispatched at 20:12 MST.
