Event narrative (NOAA)
A prolonged period of light snow and freezing rain in the morning resulted a half inch of snow with a tenth of an inch of freezing rain. This combination created hazardous driving conditions during the morning commute. A 50 year old man was killed in Fayetteville when a truck in the opposite lane slid on the ice striking a car in the oncoming traffic.
