Event narrative (NOAA)
One to two inches of ice accumulated across Marion County during the ice storm. This resulted in approximately 800 downed power poles and 4300 downed lines. Damage to the electrical infrastructure is estimated at $18.2 million. There was also widespread damage to trees but the cost of the damage is unknown.
