A nine-month-old girl died after being left unattended inside a truck for an extended period of time. High temperatures for the day were in the lower 90s. A local observation in La Porte near the time of death reported a temperature of 89 F with a dew point temperature of 74 F that equated to a heat index value of 98 F.
