Event narrative (NOAA)

Excessive heat occurred across southeast Texas. High temperatures were in the mid 90s with lows around 80 degrees. Record high minimum temperatures were reported at Houston Intercontinental Airport on the 27th and 28th. All three fatalities occurred in Harris County.
