Heavy rains fell across Tulsa county beginning the evening of May 5 and continuing through the night before ending the morning of May 6. The bulk of the rain fell over the western and southern parts of the county with 6.81 inches at Sand Springs and 5.84 inches at Jenks. Tulsa International Airport recorded 2.83 inches of rain. The most damage due to the flooding occurred in the Meadow Valley subdivision in Sand Springs. 115 homes were flooded in this subdivision as Fisher Creek overflowed. Flood damage was also reported in Jenks, Bixby, Glenpool, south Tulsa and Broken Arrow. Numerous roads and intersections were flooded.
