Persistent high pressure brought excessive heat to the Klamath Basin for 4 consecutive days from July 6th through July 9th, and on July 12th and 13th. Advisory conditions occurred on July 4th and 5th, and on July 10th and 11th. During the excessive heat, low temperatures were generally in the mid 40s to lower 60s, and high temperatures from 95 to 105 degrees. But, a peak reading was recorded on July 6th of 109 degrees at the FW4081 Klamath Falls CWOP station. Record high temperatures were reported at Klamath Falls International Airport of 102 degrees on July 6th, and 101 degrees on July 7th. Records were tied at 98 degrees on July 9th, and 100 degrees on July 13th. The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office reported a potentially heat related death of a 27 year old male on July 9th.
