Event narrative (NOAA)

A ski patrolman was partially buried in an avalanche at Squaw Valley Ski Resort while he was working avalanche controls. He was dug out of the avalanche by another member of the ski patrol. He was transferred to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno but later died from his injuries.
