Event narrative (NOAA)

A major winter storm brought snow and blowing snow that led to very dangerous travel conditions from late Thursday night through Saturday morning. Storm snowfall of 1 to 4 inches occurred Thursday night into Friday afternoon, but strong wind gusts of 50 mph and blowing snow led to dangerous travel conditions Friday and Friday night. Numerous slide-offs and accidents were reported with significantly reduced visibilities at times along with blowing and drifting snow.
