Winter Storm — Franklin, Tennessee
January 29, 2010 · NOAA Storm Events record
Event narrative (NOAA)
A mix of rain, sleet, and snow beginning Friday night transitioned into a mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow on Saturday. This produced sleet and snowfall accumulations between 1 and 2 inches across much of the county. In addition, in some locations up to one quarter of an inch of ice accumulated on trees and elevated surfaces.||Tragically, a former Madison county sheriff was killed in a car wreck while on duty during this wintry weather on Highway 64.
