Event narrative (NOAA)
A 49 year old man was killed around 4 pm Sunday near Shaniko. The car he was driving was hit by a pickup that lost control on the the icy road. The man's 10 year old daughter was taken to a hospital with facial injuries. The driver of the pickup was not injured. A winter storm left as much as three inches of snow in north central Oregon on Sunday, January 4.
