Event narrative (NOAA)
The 687 Reamer fire started 7.6 miles south of Stinnett and grew to 2000 acres. The fire was initially reported at 1:23pm but not reported to Texas Forest Service until after 10:30pm. It was within close proximity to the Smokehouse creek fire and did eventually merge into that fire. This fire was caused when a broken power pole led to utility wires coming into contact with fuels on the ground. There is no estimated cost of this fire. but there was a one fatality. An 83 year old woman was trapped in her home that became engulfed in flames around the town of Stinnett. The fire was noted 100 percent contained on a March 1st sit rep report.
