Surface observations indicate peak wind gusts generally between 50 to 60 mph, with a maximum gust of 58 mph at Cedar Key at 12:48 AM EST on August 5. Rainfall ranged from 6 to 10 inches, with a maximum total of 9.67 inches near the Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge. A direct fatality occurred when a tree fell onto a mobile home and crushed a 13 year old male inside.
