Event narrative (NOAA)

In Naugatuck, New Haven, one man died after being struck by a falling tree while trying to move branches in front of his car on Andrew Mountain Road around 230 pm LST.||Numerous trees and power lines were downed throughout the county. This resulted in numerous power outages. ||The Waterbury-Oxford Airport reported a peak wind gust of 60 mph at 158 LST and the Meriden Markham Municipal Airport reported a peak gust of 54 mph at 256 pm LST.
