Event narrative (NOAA)

A tree fell onto a car on the 1000 block of Stanley Dollar Drive in Walnut Creek, occupied by two residents of a retirement home. Contra Costa Fire responded around 7 PM and found the driver injured and the passenger dead at the scene. The road was closed as firefighters worked to clear the scene.
