In the Antelope Valley, strong winds gusting to 50 mph knocked down a tree onto a vehicle traveling along Avenue K in the city of Lancaster. A six foot branch smashed through the windshield, instantly killing the female driver. A 16 year-old passenger sustained moderate injuries.
