Event narrative (NOAA)
Storm surge moving up Barataria Bay and through Lake Salvador flooded some areas along Bayou Des Allemands near Dufrene Ponds outside of the Sunset Levee System. Storm surge travelling up the Mississippi River caused a barge to crash into the parish���s pump system, interrupting water service throughout the parish. A rise of approximately 6 ft occurred on the Mississippi River near the Bonnet Carre Spillway.
