Event narrative (NOAA)

A 40 year old male visitor drowned after he and his juvenile son were swept out into the Gulf of Mexico by a rip current. Both father and son were taken to the hospital. The son was reportedly in stable condition, but the father did not survive. The drowning occurred at James Lee Park in Destin.
