Horry County Beach Patrol reported 8 people were rescued from a single rip current near 11 Ave S and 12 Ave S in Myrtle Beach, SC. 18 year old male was transported via EMS after attempting to rescue his girlfriend's sister caught in the rip current. He passed away in the hospital two weeks later on July 3rd.
