Event narrative (NOAA)

Multiple swimmers were in distress near the Regional Beach Access of Miramar Beach in Walton county, approximately 150 yards offshore, shortly before 2 PM CST. In particular, a 20-year old male became submerged underwater. Lifeguards located the victim and brought him back to shore where he was pronounced deceased. Single red flags were flying at the time the incident and a high risk of rip currents statement was in effect.
