Event narrative (NOAA)
A 5-year old boy swimming at Pennoyer Park in Kenosha got caught in a river outlet current from the Pike River and drowned in Lake Michigan. An 8-year old girl was also struggling in the current, but was able to make it back to shore. She was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
