Event narrative (NOAA)
Multiple swimmers were in the water on a double red flag day behind Long Beach Resort in Panama City Beach. Four swimmers in particular were in distress, and lifeguards went out to rescue them. CPR was administered on the beach and subsequently a 37 year old woman was unable to be revived. Three others were transferred to a local hospital. A 16 year old was listed in critical condition.
