Event narrative (NOAA)
An 18-year-old male was swimming off Padre Island with his 16-year-old brother during the evening hours of May 23. The 18-year-old individual was pulled out into a rip current and drowned. This happened near Zahn Road, just north of Packery Channel. The individual's body was found May 25 off J.P. Luby Beach, one mile north of Zahn Road.
