Event narrative (NOAA)
A 50-year old man from Michigan went missing after being caught in a rip current and rough surf while swimming near Cherie Down Park in Cape Canaveral. The search was called off the following day and man was presumed drowned. Near the time the man went missing, his nephew was rescued from the water by a surfer.
