Event narrative (NOAA)

Several swimmers were caught in rough surf on Treasure Island Beach, prompting a call to 911. Beach goers and rescue crews helped the swimmers to shore, but one of the swimmers, a 48 year old man, was unconscious. Rescuers performed CPR on the man before taking him to a hospital, where he died the next morning.
