Event narrative (NOAA)

Five swimmers became distressed while encountering rip currents along coast in Miami Beach, near 43rd Street and Collins Avenue around 730pm. Two women were able to swim ashore and required no further assistance. One male was also able to make it to shore, but was transported to the hospital in addition to another male who was rescued by police and firefighters for evaluation. A third male was brought to shore, but was pronounced dead at the hospital.
