Event narrative (NOAA)
Strong rip currents pulled a young boy under water at Mustang Island State Park on the afternoon of the 16th. Two other brothers had a difficult time making it back to shore. The deceased's body was later found a half mile away near Fish Pass. Local officials and US Coast Guard assisted in the search and rescue.
