Event narrative (NOAA)

Volusia County Beach Patrol confirmed the death of a 62-year-old male from Lebanon who died after being rescued from a rip current near the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue in Ormond Beach around 0955 EST on May 25. The man was unconscious after being pulled from the surf and later died at the hospital. Nearby at Daytona Beach, three people were rescued from rough surf and rip currents and transported to a local hospital.
