Event narrative (NOAA)
Two siblings playing in the shore near Boldtad Beach was caught in a rip that dragged them out to sea. The older sibling, a 11 year old girl pushed her younger brother towards the shore before she drifted further out to sea and drowned. The younger boy was rescued after being in the water for 30 minutes. He was found with only his face above the water, and was hospitalized for injuries.
