Event narrative (NOAA)

A 20-year-old Boynton Beach resident drowned when caught in a rip current just north of Lake Worth Pier. The victim was swimming about 200 yards offshore. Two people attempted to rescue the victim to no avail. ||City lifeguards had already left for the day, and there had been warning flags posted throughout the day.
