Event narrative (NOAA)

Lifeguards on the beach at Hollywood warned the 65 year old female to stay out of the rough surf, but despite the warning the lady was later found unconscious by a public works official and was pulled to shore near Michigan Street and North Ocean Drive around 9 AM. Rescue workers performed resuscitation techniques on the victim until they reached Memorial Regional Hospital. The victim died later that day of heart failure.
