Event narrative (NOAA)

A thirty-two year old male from Georgia drowned while swimming in rough surf at an unguarded beach east of Casio Beach. The male went swimming with a friend when he got into trouble in the rough surf. The friend was able to make it ashore but the man drowned. Red flags warning of dangerous surf were flying at the time.
