Event narrative (NOAA)
A Chicago man became the fifth person to drown over two days along the northwest Florida beaches plagued by rough surf and rip currents. Witnesses said the twenty-five year old male went into the water and was immediately pulled away from the shore. Two people tried to rescue him but were forced back by strong waves.
