Event narrative (NOAA)

The landmark Casa Amado mansion at 455 North County Road which was undergoing renovations was severely damaged by an apparent lightning strike. The mansion was totaled, with damage estimated at $15 million or more. ||The fire department was called in at 1135 PM after calls reporting smoke were received. Storms affected the area sometime around 230 PM, which is the time the lightning strike was believed to have occurred.
