Event narrative (NOAA)

A thunderstorm, with nearly continuous lightning, moved out of Washington DC into adjacent western Prince Georges County, near Oxon Hill, MD. A 16 year old girl was struck by lightning waiting for a bus on Kennebec Street. She was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
