Event narrative (NOAA)
Ida���s winds caused widespread damage to trees, power lines and poles, and some structures as well. Most structural damage was minor to moderate, consisting of shingle damage, carport damage or other fascia damage. A few homes suffered more serious damage from falling trees. 100% of the parish was left without power due to a catastrophic failure of the electric system serving all of metro New Orleans.
