Event narrative (NOAA)

Hurricane Gustav caused widespread trees and power lines downed across Rapides Parish. Some of the worst wind damage was in Forest Hill, Glenmora, Cheneyville, and Woodworth. At the Alexandria Mall, part of the roof caved in, damaging many stores in the mall.
