Event narrative (NOAA)

Numerous trees and power lines were downed by high winds associated with the remnants of Hurricane Helene. By 5 PM EDT Friday evening, over 6,5000 customers were reported without power. There was one confirmed fatality when a man died when his vehicle was struck by a large tree that fell across the roadway from the opposite highway.
