Event narrative (NOAA)

Local broadcast media relayed reports that a 55-year-old man died after a tree fell on his car near the intersection of Maryland 77 and Tower Road, near Thurmont, Maryland. The incident occurred at approximately 1200 local time. A peak gradient wind gust of 58 mph was measured by a trained spotter near Wolfsville at approximately 1150 local time.
