Event narrative (NOAA)

A trained spotter reported a wind gust to 60 mph in Lindenhurst at 450 pm. Other wind gusts reported were 69 mph in Blue Point at 934 pm, 67 mph in Fire Island at 7 pm, 66 mph in Amity Harbor at 621 pm, 64 mph in Patchogue at 710 pm, 62 mph at Islip MacArthur Airport at 636 pm, and 60 mph at Farmingdale Airport at 636 pm. A tree fell and killed a 73 year old woman in Bay Shore as she walked to her car. This occurred on Lanier Lane at 820 pm.
