Event narrative (NOAA)
Strong winds of 40 to 50 miles per hour were sustained for several hours. Gusts over 60 mph were common. Widespread damage occurred across the region, from trees being blown down on powerlines, to significant crop losses and structural damage. A husband and wife were killed by a falling tree while riding a motorcycle in Hueston Woods State Park.
