Event narrative (NOAA)

Northwest wind gusting to 30 miles an hour caused dangerous waves on Pickwick Lake in extreme western Colbert County. One fishing boat sank with three occupants aboard. A 43 year old man drowned when he could not swim to shore. A Wind Advisory was in effect for northern Alabama.
