Event narrative (NOAA)

A 72-year-old male surfer was found unresponsive in the water near Playa Tres Palmas in Rinc��n. The individual was struck by his surfboard, lost consciousness, and subsequently drowned in the presence of high surf and strong currents. Bystanders and authorities recovered the victim, who was later pronounced deceased.
