An ocean rescue was reported at 10:41 AM on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the Gerstle Cove campground in Salt Point State Park. Two men were standing on rocks at the coast when a wave swept one out to sea. He was flown to land, where emergency personnel performed CPR, but he was pronounced dead at 11:26 AM on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
