Event narrative (NOAA)

At approximately 1300 EST, a 35 year old woman was walking with her husband in waist-deep water at Daytona Beach during Tropical Storm Fay. They were hit by a huge wave and swept off their feet. The husband made it back to shore, but the wife was swept away and drowned. Ten minutes later, the woman's body was recovered about 75 feet north of where she was swept into the rough surf.
