Hot temperatures about 5 degrees above normal were experienced in the Tucson Metro Area June 16, causing the Moderate Heat Risk category to be reached. Tucson International Airport topped out at 107 degrees on June 16. The Pima County Medical Examiner confirmed that heat was the primary cause of death in one individual and a contributing factor in the death of another individual on June 16.
